I Want You to Have a Merry Christmas

Cale's obligatory Christmas sweater. He loves presents and the tree.
This is the flower arrangement my Aunt Julie made for my mom's birthday party. She's truly gifted at creating beautiful arrangements. The party was a huge success. And yes, that is a 40 carat diamond sitting on the table.
Another beautiful shot of the ice storm from photographer Kent Sorge.

Disney on Ice: Finding Nemo

Isn't Cale the cutest thing ever? This is Cale on Grandpa's lap during Disney on Ice. We went to Finding Nemo. Good thing I couldn't "Find my wallet" because Disney sure wants families to shell out the cash for stupid little Nemo merchandise that costs a fortune.
Here's Cale at Disney on Ice on Grandpa's lap. There's only so much skating and singing a little boy can take.
And yes... those are fish eyes where boobs should be. Weird and distracting. What an odd show.

More from December

Mom surprised at the party. She didn't fall for the "bats at the country club" line, but we got her to go inside anyway.
Danny and Tammy holding Cale.
Grandpa introduced Cale to a new way to soothe his teeth. Just put those gums on the cold glass.
Here's Daddy and Cale enjoying time together. It's easier to have Cale on your shoulders because you know he's not getting into the cat food or trying to turn off the computer.

The month of December

This month has been very busy. Here's glimpse into the ice storm from December 10th. Cherry Icee anyone?

Cale's getting ready to help pull a surprise party on Grandma Joni.

On December 15th, we threw my Mom Joni a surprise birthday party at the Pine Lake Country Club. I couldn't have done it without Kent, Julie, Danny and Tammy's help.

Judy, Tim, Larry and Kate with mom and Cale. Larry and Cale really bonded even though Cale didn't have a nap all day and stayed up until midnight.

More Halloween

Cale loved handing out candy to all of the neighbor kids. We let him harmlessly gnaw on a Snickers.

Then it was time to take a bath. Baby Cale loves playing with the duckies in the bathtub!

Cale watched Mommy and Daddy carve pumpkins. It was Kent's first time carving pumpkins so Cale and Dad shared a big event together. We tackled 5 of them. A cat on the left, a baby Cale jack o'lantern, a bat in the middle, a ghost over a gravestone 4th from left, and on the right a spider. Take that Picasso!

Happy Halloween!

Mommy and Cale are partying at Jack and Heather's. I was a flapper. Kent was a gangster. Cale is a little Baby Bear.
The Baby Bear always wants what is on Mommy's plate.

Grandpa Tom went as Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribean.

Pretty cool mask. Cale loved chewing on the tentacles.

Cale and Maggie relaxing before their big appearance on Paula Sands Live. For those of you who don't know what PSL is: it's the 4:30pm talk show at KWQC. Every year since I've been at the station, we have a halloween party and show. People from the station bring their kids and pets in costume. It's the most popular show of the year. Cale picked up a pen in Mommy's office and would not part with it.

Daddy took Cale on the show. That's Paula Sands interviewing Kent and Cale. It was very cute.

Front Row Elton John

Cale does his best Elton John impersonation.

We had front row seats to Elton John and it was worth every penny. Awesome performance. Awesome view. Awesome awesomeness.

That's the back of my head and yes, that's Elton John five feet away from me.

This is Elton John signing my ticket and saying Thank you for coming. I screamed Thank you and he said thank you back. It was awesome. Have I said it was awesome, yet?

Munich for Oktoberfest

Look at all of these people!! This large building is one of many large beer halls. The German beer companies pay millions of dollars to erect these huge halls that fit thousands of beer drinkers. In this picture are lots of tourists. Most Germans are wearing their durndls and lederhosen. Cale now has his own pair of lederhosen.

The Oktoberfest is part beer drinking, part state fair on steroids, and another part weirdness. This is the best example of weirdness. A whole display of gnomes.

Maybe it is the beer we drank, but we found this hysterical.

Here is a birds-eye view of just how many people are in the midway and how many different beer gardens there are. About 7 million people visit Oktoberfest in the 3 weeks it is on.

This is the famous bridge in Lucerne, Switzerland. Most of it was burned in a fire in 1993 after someone carelessly tossed a cigarette butt. The art inside of it was lost except for one or two panels.

Good Times with Matt & Jill

On the way to Munich... Jill and Matt kick back and relax.

Kent and I are extremely jetlagged in this picture, but you can't tell. This is Zurich right near where Jill and Matt's awesome apartment is. Isn't it beautiful?? The Limmat River flows throug town and Jill/Matt's apartment is right there. Zurich is beautiful and interesting. It's where the DaDa artist movement was founded. Zurich also boasts the largest clock face in the world... bigger than Big Ben. You can see it behind us. But most importantly, Zurich is home to the University that first shunned Albert Einstein, then welcomed him with open arms to teach others. He later fled to America after the start of WW II.
Matt, Jill and a friend, Dave, all pose outside the Hofbrauhaus. This is where you can enjoy beer, sausage, amazing pretzels. It is also the home to where Adolf Hitler started his "grassroots" propaganda meetings. He picked beer halls to get his message out to the people and it caught on.
This is the view from atop Mount Pilatus in Lucerne, Switzerland. This view is 7,000 feet up. Lucerne is about an hour by train away from Zurich. Jill, Kent and I spent the day in Lucerne. Lucerne is the most photographed place in Switzerland.

So Many Cute Pics, So Little Time

8 Months Old and Oh, so cute!

Cale poses for Daddy.

The full effect of the outfit and the beautiful baby.

Yet, another one of Cale's hilarious faces. We think he makes a lot of the funny faces because his teeth hurt. He is definitely a flirt and a ham. He's getting so much personality and is so fun!

Football & Fun

Cale's first Husker Game. He loves watching sports.

Cale and Grandpa Tom at Adventureland. They were riding on the convoy!

He is one cute kid with two little teeth.

Cale now has a whole host of faces that he makes. This is one of the funniest ones by far. He hams it up for Mom and Dad all the time. I think when Mom's at work, Dad teaches Cale funny faces.

Halloween Preview

Mom knows it's not Halloween yet, but I ordered Cale a costume. He's a Teddy Bear.
He is so cute! We've got a good 2 months before Halloween. I hope he still fits into it.

You could just eat him up!

Cale does a really good job eating all of his food. He's moved onto ham and turkey along with fruits and vegetables.
Cale does a great job eating, but still can't figure out the crawling part yet. He's trying.
Cale and Mommy went shopping today and got some good deals. It's to celebrate turning 7 months old.

Trying to figure out how to Crawl

I'm trying to learn how to crawl. I've figured out how to roll around from side to side. I just can't figure out how to get my knees up or how to make my arms work. Plus, my head is just really big.

Gosh, I'm cute. There's Ripley behind me.

Mommy and Daddy took me to see the Bix 7 race to give me some ideas. I hung out in my stroller as all of these people walked by me. It was fun and was a beautiful day.

Keenan's my little buddy. I can't wait until I can chase Keenan all around the house after I learn how to crawl.
